💡 From pen and paper to automation: How ChatGPT has helped me cut waste and run my business smarter

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how AI is reshaping my entrepreneurial life — Paradoxically, one thing that AI has done to me or the apprehension of how tools like ChatGPT might affect our cognitive abilities is that it has pushed me to go back to writing more with pen and paper 🖋️ — writing freely, without judgment, and without the need to make it look perfect.

But here’s the plot twist…

I’ve also become a total convert to using ChatGPT — and I’m genuinely amazed at how much time (and money) it saves me while running my business. 😍

🪴 Situation:
At Planteka, I used to spend 30 minutes every morning and 30 minutes every evening to update our sales spreadsheets — the master sheet and multiple vendor sheets (vendors being the plant care experts on our marketplace).
Last week, I asked ChatGPT to help me figure out how to automate it.

💻 Among other solutions were a simple JavaScript to run on Google Sheets — and suddenly, the process now takes less than a minute.
Apart from the satisfaction of reactivating my old “coder brain,” I was blown away by how powerful such a small change could be.
➡️ One full hour saved every single day.
➡️ Zero cost.
➡️ No Zapier, no integrations — just curiosity and learning.

And that’s what I think I truly value AI for — not to offload our rational and emotional thinking, but to free up our time for what really matters: creativity, strategy, and connection.
🌿 As an entrepreneur, I’m always on the look out for minimizing waste — whether it’s wasted time, effort, or resources.
✨ I love how AI, when used mindfully, can help us do just that — help us operate our businesses more efficiently and sustainably.

I am a convert. What about you?
👉 Has AI changed the way you work — or the way you think?

P.S: Full disclosure — I did ask ChatGPT to edit my handwritten note without losing my sense of excitement 😇
