Spoiler: The week’s best-selling stock files reveal a secret that can tilt your earnings curve — if you know where to look.
Setting the scene
Between 23 June and 29 June 2025, Adobe Stock’s download counter never paused. I scraped the daily “top sellers” pages for three asset types — photos, illustrations, vectors — collecting 120 records for each list. Every record came with plain-text metadata: file type flags, original dimensions, and up to forty keywords. Then I parsed four key fields:
is_gentech
andis_firefly_generated
→ mark content that the platform labels “generative.”content_original_width
andcontent_original_height
→ reveal aspect ratio.keywords[]
→ feed a frequency analysis.asset_type
→ group results into clear buckets.
This simple schema kept the study transparent, repeatable, and fast.
What the first pass told me
Crunching the numbers surfaced one loud pattern: AI imagery already rules the “Photo” chart. Out of 120 photo hits, 72 carry the generative flag — an even 60 percent. Many show spotless table-top scenes or misty pastel landscapes that would take hours with a camera but minutes with a prompt.
