With three little guys in the house, you can bet I’ve been scouring the internet for inspiring boy spaces since our first-born. Dedicated Pinterest boards for Nurseries and Big Boy Rooms were a must! After our third was born last year, I had originally planned on bunking the big boys with only a slight sprucing of the biggest’s big boy room. As the cards fell, you saw me introduce our middle’s very own big boy room plans in week 1 of the New Year, New Room Challenge last week hosted by Casa Watkins Living. Even though I have a pretty solid direction I’m going with his space, I can’t help but continue browsing for inspiration! There are so many creative, darling digs for little ones, I thought it might be helpful for you and me to round-up 7 of the Cutest Big Boy Rooms Inspiring Me Right Now!
They are bold and bright with a ton of personality. As you’ll see most of the rooms have a neutral palette with pops of color and pattern throughout to keep the space playful which is what I’m going for in our little guy’s space. After creating the neutral nursery last year, I can’t wait to add some funk and color to this upcoming project. After the inspiration images, you’ll see an update on our room’s to do list.

Can you even with these?!! They are all so fresh and modern, with some of them rocking a retro vibe. Aren’t they seriously some of the cutest big boy rooms out there? I have major googly heart eyes for all 7! What I love about them is that they are all white or light spaces or with a neutral wallpaper. I’m waiting on my wallpaper samples to arrive, but right now I’m leaning towards this black and white geometric wallpaper for an accent wall.
The rest of the space is painted in Sherwin Williams Repose Gray so it will have the light and airy look I want as the backdrop.
I haven’t made much of a dent in the to do list, but with all 3 littles home until yesterday on a very looonnng winter break, I know I’m going to be able to start chipping away soon!
PLAYFUL & PATTERN-HAPPY BIG BOY ROOM TO DO LIST:
purge and declutter– we nearly emptied it!- closet refresh [including door and wire shelving removal]
take desk and computer out- rearrange bed position
- replace ceiling fan – narrowing down fan options
- wallpaper accent wall – ordered samples
- install wall sconces – ordered and need to schedule electrical appointment
- determine book shelf / storage [possibly furniture makeover] – still deciding
- reupholster fabric headboard – need to pick out fabric
- get new rug – ordered
- find a nightstand – still hunting
- purchase new lamp
- bring dresser in from the biggest’s room
- swap out dresser hardware?
- new laundry hamper
- update the bedding
- pick out new pillows
- hang wall art
- style and decorate the space
