How AI (and ChatGPT) is Saving My Sanity as a Busy Mom-preneur selling digital products
When I started using ChatGPT more regularly, I realized just how much time it could save me in my business.
With three kids, including a new baby, time is more precious than ever. Gone are the days when I had 15 uninterrupted hours a week while my older kids were in preschool. Now, I’m juggling nursing sessions, a part-time babysitter, and all the usual mom tasks. Needless to say, every shortcut helps!
In this post and podcast episode, I want to share a few ways I’ve been using ChatGPT to streamline my process.
Hopefully, this inspires some ideas on how you can use AI to lessen your load, too.
You can listen to this blog as a podcast, too.
1. Etsy Listing Descriptions Done Fast
One of the first things I asked ChatGPT to help with was writing Etsy listing descriptions.
After giving it my product details, it generated solid descriptions that I could tweak and customize. Then, I asked it to revise those descriptions to include more of the keywords I’d researched for SEO.
This saved me so much time since I didn’t have to start from scratch every time.
Takeaway: Use AI to draft and optimize your product listings. It’s a great way to keep your shop updated without the hours of manual work.
2. Fun Content Ideas – Even Swim Teacher Puns!
For a digital product I created—a gift card for swim teachers—I wanted to add some humor, so I asked ChatGPT for some swim-themed puns. It delivered a bunch of clever ideas I could pick from. I then went a step further and asked it to generate images as design inspiration for the card.
Now, if you’ve ever used AI image generation, you know things can get a little… creative.
The images often have quirky errors. But these mockups sparked new design ideas, and I ended up creating a final version that made sales within 24 hours!
Takeaway: Use AI-generated visuals to inspire your designs. They may not be perfect, but they can help jumpstart the creative process.
3. Font Ideas for Free Canva Accounts
Since I create digital templates that others can resell, I’m careful about using fonts that work with free Canva accounts.
I asked ChatGPT for font suggestions that fit this requirement, and it quickly generated a list of options for me. This saved a ton of time I would have spent scrolling through Canva’s library.
Takeaway: For specific design needs, ask AI to suggest compatible resources—like fonts or color palettes. It’s a quick way to check off design details.
4. Email and Podcast Content Ideas
Creating engaging content is an ongoing task, so I’ve started asking ChatGPT for email and podcast ideas. I’ll even use it to generate quick episode descriptions or name ideas.
Though this particular post idea actually came to me while brushing my teeth (of all places!), ChatGPT has helped me outline, expand, and fine-tune countless other ideas.
Takeaway: If you’re ever in a creative rut, ask AI for a quick brainstorming session. It’s like having an assistant who’s always ready to throw out ideas.
Final Thoughts
AI may get a bad rap, but with a little modification and customization, tools like ChatGPT can be powerful time-savers for any busy entrepreneur.
I still personalize everything ChatGPT creates because c’mon… AI is far from perfect and we all need that human touch, but having this resource makes my workflow a lot smoother and faster.
Whether it’s writing Etsy descriptions, sparking design inspiration, or generating email ideas, AI has become an invaluable assistant in my day-to-day life as a product seller.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, give it a try—you might just find that it saves your sanity, too!
