In 2009, HARIBO was the first confectionary producer to put an App online in the App Store. The GOLDBEARS App was not to remain the sole HARIBO application for long, since the success of the application encouraged HARIBO to develop and release a further application of their own in parallel with the COLOR–RADO relaunch one year later.
Whereas the GOLDBEARS App allowed you to transport a virtual pack of the sweet bears into your mouth at any time, the COLOR-RADO app requires you to employ speed and skill to build a tower from COLOR-RADO product elements. The two product elements, the coloured VAMPIRES and the CARAMEL CONFECTIONARY that have recently been added to the COLOR-RADO mixture bring valuable additional points.
On Dec.21th , the GOLDBEARS App is going to update , the enhancement enabled the GOLDBEAR pack to be filled via Bluetooth into a second iPhone or iPod Touch. A light shake connects the devices, and the HARIBO GOLDBEARS can be shared out amongst friends.
The use of Apps enables brands to come alive and thus to invoke emotions. Young consumers with an affinity for technology are playfully introduced to the brands and the mobile Apps can continue to be used as a marketing instrument
