White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s effort to post a personal moment with President Donald Trump on social media backfired, sparking backlash from critics.
The 28-year-old mother posted to her Instagram on Sept. 3, sharing a behind-the-scenes photo of herself alongside Trump before his entrance into the White House Briefing Room. The image showed Leavitt dressed in a crisp navy suit and heels, matching Trump’s similar-colored outfit. Her caption simply stated, “Behind The Scenes: President Trump enters the White House Briefing Room,” yet the post rapidly transformed into a heated debate in the comments, reports the Express US.
Leavitt encountered both backlash and support on social media, with one person asking, “I am going to ask a personal question! How do you live with yourself and sleep at night knowing that you are lying for a con man? Don’t you have some just some self-respect, esteem, pride, etc.?”

One user adopted an aggressive approach, bringing up the ongoing controversy around the Epstein files and writing, “KKKarolyin! Hey, did your daddy tell you how to respond to the Epstein victims’ press event today? Are you going to huff and puff and do your evasive noncommittal answer shit when cornered with facts and truth? KKKaroline, are you and Bimbo Bondi going to try and get your MAGAt Epstein binder posing influencers to pose again?”
Another user bluntly declared, “Epstein wasn’t a hoax,” while a third commenter alleged, “You’re helping cover up a massive pedo ring, ya phony Christian.”
Another person exploded, “How do you live with yourself?” while a third person seethed, “Getting ready to spread more lies.”
Someone else commented, “Such a pathetic example of a woman,” as one individual questioned, “How can you stand up there and lie to America every single day? Disgusting women.”
However, the White House Press Secretary was showered with backing for her position during the Trump administration. One fan proclaimed, “BEST PRESS SECRETARY EVER.”
Another backer shared, “This duo is unstoppable! Best press secretary ever @karolineleavitt ! The people’s president,” while a third simply stated, “Thank you for your hard work.”
A fourth admirer gushed, “The dynamic duo that I love so much. Keep up the good work young lady. We are behind you! !” and another devotee called it, “This pic is EPIC.”
Between her hectic responsibilities, Leavitt recently offered supporters a peek into her personal life by sharing her fall cooking projects. She posted a picture of her dinner prep on Instagram stories, showcasing a personalized cutting board that read “The Riccio’s, established 2025.”
Her caption stated, “pineapple ham, mashed potatoes, carrots and a fresh baguette!”.
Following this, she shared a photo of the completed meal: pineapple-topped ham in a Le Creuset dish, creamy mashed potatoes, and tender carrot slices.
