I don't understand what is going on????? I was at the E.R. twice last month and it doesn't give anymore information than in the screenshot so it doesn't say which day and doesn't provide any information to contact them. But isn't this illegal to get an emergency medical bill on medi-cal? It literally states on my medi-cal card that they fully cover ER visits. Did the law change and I wasn't notified? I've been to the ER multiple times the entire time I've been on medi-cal and this is the first time I've gotten billed. Since they gave no contact information, I don't know who to contact to try and get this sorted out?! But I literally have $3 to my name and no income right now. I will never be able to afford to pay this bill. Am I officially in medical debt before I even got another job? It won't allow me to upload pictures on here so I will provide two images on imgur? the screenshot of the $868 ER bill and the back of my medi-cal card that has no personal info it just states they will fully cover emergency care and the phone numbers for medi-cal's services. Should I call one of those numbers?
Also, the bill is literally in my legal name and I'm 100% sure that the hospital I went to has my medi-cal info on file and up to date, as they had me verify it multiple times and they have it stored on myportal so this couldn't have been a hospital billing mistake. Did the hospital just illegally bill me? I don't have any private insurance or any other health coverage, I only have medi-cal, so it isn't secondary or anything like that to my case.
