Feeling lost and worried state of Florida

Hi there! I am really scared and petrified my niece is going to lose her benefits.

Cliff notes version:
My SIL passed away
My husband and I became legal guardians of my niece.
My niece is extremely medically complex. She is a liver transplant recipient and still in the hospitals quite a bit with other issues.
She’s currently on medicare and receives death benefits from her mother who passed away.
Her Mom had her on Medicaid for low income purposes and I assume being medically complex.
All of her medications, hospital stays and surgeries result in a lot of missed work. In addition, her rejection medication is crazy expensive. I am now having to apply for benefits under my name and address. The lady on the phone told me she won’t lost her benefits because of my and my husband’s salaries but I’m truly scared. It looks good on paperwork, but we have a lot of expenses. I’m not sure if any of this makes sense. I’m currently filling out the paperwork and even though “I” and not applying per se, it’s asking for all of the household income. Does any of this make sense? Is my niece going to lose her benefits because of me? Is it income restricted even if she has a disability?
If you made it this far, I truly appreciate you.
