LAS VEGAS (September 8, 2025). The welcome was warm at the Shannon West Homeless Youth Center. HPN Medicaid Youth support and Raiders safety headlined a kickoff built on care and joy. Hot meals, live music, easy games, and real conversations set the tone. As a result, dignity led the night and hope followed.
What Happened
Big Chicken served hot meals, and drinks stayed cold on ice. Meanwhile, DJ Arlene Barba (Sound Fusion Entertainment) kept clean, upbeat tracks with QR song requests. Jeremy Chinn met guests in waves for photos and autographs, and an accessibility lane remained open for easy access. Additionally, Faded Barbershop Lounge LV provided free haircuts in two chairs with timed slots. Finally, a resource table linked youth to housing, health care, and jobs with QR intake and printed contacts; staff also booked follow-up calls when asked.
Why It Matters
SWHYC serves youth navigating housing instability. Consequently, stress is daily and trust can be thin. A predictable, well-run night lowers anxiety. Furthermore, clear steps reopen services and dignity-first support restores confidence. One safe evening can reset a week.
