Video apps are everywhere now.

The question is simple, how will this change the way we make and share videos?

Honestly this scares me to some extent.

But the question is — Is it just another app on our phone, or does it mean something bigger for creators and users like us?

What I see as a content creator is that many platforms compete for our attention: TikTok, YouTube, Instagram. Now, OpenAI jumps in with its own Sora app, built to run with its new Sora 2 AI video model.

What makes Sora 2 special is simple, it can generate videos and audio that look very real, even adding you and your friends into them.

The tech is no longer science fiction.

Hey guys, this is Kanika, your Passive Income Coach. Today, I will sharing my point of view on OpenAI’s latest move , the launch of its Sora app and Sora 2 model. I’ll share my personal take on what this means for users like us and for everyone trying to make a mark online.

First, let’s talk about the numbers.

OpenAI is entering a market where TikTok has over one billion users worldwide and YouTube gets 2.5 billion monthly. Sora is starting in the US and Canada and is invite-only now, but with OpenAI behind it, the buzz is huge. The app will be free at launch, but there will be paid options to generate videos, especially when many people want to use it at once. That means OpenAI is betting on both high demand and future monetization, just like other social apps.

Sora 2 doesn’t just generate videos from prompts, it can put you and your friends right into the clips with “cameos.” You record yourself once, and the app learns your appearance and voice.

For me, uploading yourself is a new kind of social sharing, and it feels both fun and a little risky.

But the question is, what does this mean for creators and viewers? If anybody can use someone’s likeness in a scene, what stops people from making videos that feel fake or misleading?

Let’s get deeper. Creators can churn out content fast, no need for a camera crew or fancy locations.

If you dreamed of becoming a video star or social influencer, now you have the tools in your phone. The algorithm pushes engaging clips into a TikTok-like feed, letting you reach more people. For those looking to earn passive income, this could be big.

You could make viral videos with zero production hassle and turn your creativity into cash. If it will open for India, I would definitely like to try it.

But there are challenges.

The Sora app collects lots of data, how you use it, your location, even your ChatGPT conversations for content suggestions. You can switch some things off, but many details still get tracked.

Parents can use controls to keep kids safe, but these limits only work for those who know how to use them.

The risk of non-consensual or deceptive videos will go up. If someone shares your likeness too freely, can you trust them? And what happens if a video hurts your reputation or safety?

OpenAI is trying to manage these risks. You can revoke access to your likeness, and settings aim to give you control.

Here’s my take: Sora 2 is a powerful step ahead.

It makes video creation easy, fast, and personal.

If used well, it can help creators, educators, marketers, and even everyday users tell richer stories, connect better, and earn more. Online presence and passive income are not just for the lucky few; they can be within reach for anyone using smart AI tools.

But, caution matters. Use Sora to learn, grow, and make something good — but don’t lose yourself in endless feeds or risky trends. Manage your privacy, stay alert, and build your skills wisely.

For parents, coach your kids about smart sharing and online safety. For creators, focus on authenticity and quality videos that add value, not just chase views.

AI-powered apps like Sora 2 are here to stay. They will change media, business, and daily life. The way forward is clear: don’t be afraid of new tech, but always be smart about how you use it.

Learn, experiment, and upgrade your skills to stay ahead.

Change is always part of life. Sora shows that with AI, video creation and sharing are just the start. The real story is how we use these tools to make a future we truly want. Honestly, I am excited!
