Full review of Getter — ‘Made For You (Alone Again)’ — a raw, emotional track blending vulnerability and electronic production.
Without question one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It is my favourite song on the album ‘Visceral’, I used to have it on repeat back in 2018/19, it holds so many memories of that time in my life.
Made For You (Alone Again) is Getter’s own favourite track on the album, he told Billboard, “This one is about getting shut down every chance you’re given. Knowing, for a fact you belong with someone but they just can’t see it.”
PRODUCTION
The song title ‘Made For You (Alone Again)’ encapsulates the emotional conflict at the core of the track. The two phrases stand in stark contrast — ‘Made For You’ implies connection and devotion while ‘(Alone Again)’ evokes isolation and repetition. The cold juxtaposition hints at a painful, recurring cycle in Getter’s life — despite feeling destined for someone, he finds himself left behind once more.
