This entire situation is very stressful. I’m doing my best to walk it out without taking the weight of the world on my shoulders. I think about the people who have lost their job and no longer have the option of health insurance.
Most people can’t afford COBRA when they leave their employer. Most employees don’t realize just how much of the cost the employer was footing the bill. It’s why you should appreciate your group health insurance when your employer is offering you insurance. I have been in this industry for over 25 years. I have seen thousands of policies. Please don’t be offended if I say just telling me your insurance carrier doesn’t mean anything. It’s not like saying you went to the store and you bought a brand that everyone can recognize the store based on their claim to the generic brand. Insurance doesn’t operate like that at all.
The policy that you have will be different characteristics from employer to employer. And individual plans are an entirely different level of benefits. It’s because with a large group of people the cost sharing helps to balance out the expenses of a sickly person and a non sickly person. An individual policy doesn’t have a group of people to help average out the cost sharing. Individuals pay more money out of pocket. It’s about the average cost sharing, statistics based on morbidity that helps actuaries calculate the companies risks. The company’s risks are very important because without it a company can easily go out of business.
Well, I hate to be the one to tell you this but you’re a risk. Don’t get your panties all in a bunch. Stay with me for a minute. As an individual for health insurance, statistics are gathered based on different factors race, age, health problems within the race and age factor, family history and so on that determines the morbidity rate. The morbidity tells us a projector of your future health problems. In other words, how much of a risk will you be in the future. The laws regulating insurance says they need a certain monetary threshold to be maintained to prevent them from going bankrupt.
Insurance companies get a bad reputation for denying claims. There needs to be order to prevent chaos. Sometimes it’s necessary to say no. No, Rebecca I’m sorry that you’re not happy with your small breast. The company is not going to pay for you to be a D cup because your boyfriend likes them big. That’s what is called not medically necessary. It’s considered to be cosmetic. So no baby, they’re not going to pay for your BBL either.
