By skyforbes I have 3 kids covered under medicaid. I am disabled have Medicare, I am NOT covered under medicaid. I receive 1700/month in ssdi and 269/month for each child. My kids are now getting older and looking to get jobs. My oldest is almost 18, 2nd oldest turns 16 in a couple days and youngest is 14. Medicaid told me children are covered under parent until 24, unless they get pregnant, and if they get jobs I just add their income to my app. I know the disability income counts as income but I wasn't sure if it makes a difference in the allowable income. I was also wondering if the 2 younger ones being in school but having part time jobs would make a difference in the allowable income.
Medicaid wasn't very helpful with those questions just told me once they get a job to add their income and see what happens. I've got 2 kids who have significant medical issues and losing insurance for them would cost way more then the income of each having a part time job. All 3 three are still currently in school. Thanks!
