Algorithms Decide Who Gets to Speak

The longer I spent on TikTok, the more I realized that visibility had little to do with authenticity. One day, my videos would reach thousands; the next, they would vanish from the feed without explanation. It was not just shadow-banning — it was a quiet recalibration of who gets to speak and who gets buried. I have watched creators, especially political voices, lose reach overnight.

The realization that my voice could be turned down by design — made something in me resist. I have never set out to be an activist; it happens almost by reflex, born from my sense of justice and my compassion for people. I am an artist who creates to make sense of the noise, not to organize movements. Still, when the world tilts toward silence, even art becomes a form of protest.
