The eighth album from the Canadian nu-metal outfit features the long-awaited return of original lead singer Adam Gontier
This is a big moment for 13 year old me.
I grew up addicted to hard rock, and one of my favorites was Canadian nu-metal outfit Three Days Grace. So many of their songs made an impact on my teenage self: “I Hate Everything About You,” “Never Too Late,” “Bitter Taste,” “World So Cold,” their insane cover of Michael Jackson’s “Give In To Me.” Their third LP, Life Starts Now, was the first CD I ever bought a physical copy of. I even had a deep cut from their debut album as my ringtone for a hot minute.
A huge part of my love for this band comes straight from the mouth of lead vocalist Adam Gontier. His voice has insane power and range, one of the best in the rock game, in my opinion. Thus, young me was gutted when Gontier announced his departure from Three Days Grace in 2013. His replacement, Matt Walst of My Darkest Days, did his damndest to lead the band into a new era, but he simply wasn’t Adam, so my interest quickly waned.
