One of the most significant additions in todays update is the introduction of Recall (Preview), available exclusively on Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs. This AI-driven feature allows users to find past activities by searching natural language descriptions like “find my presentation from last week.” Recall works by taking snapshots of your screen — if you opt in — and secures them using Windows Hello. You can pause or manage this feature at any time, and once you locate a snapshot, it offers further actions through a tool called Click to Do.

Click to Do (Preview), also limited to Copilot+ PCs, provides intelligent actions on content you select on-screen, using shortcuts such as Windows + mouse click or Windows + Q. For example, you can edit selected images directly in Photos or Paint, or rewrite and summarize selected text using Microsoft’s small AI language model, Phi Silica. This allows for faster workflows and deeper integration with Windows apps.

Meanwhile, AI-powered Windows Search enhancements are now available on more Copilot+ devices, including those with AMD and Intel chips. These upgrades make it easier to locate files and settings with natural language, whether stored locally or in OneDrive.

These features, particularly Recall, Click to Do, and enhanced search, are rolling out gradually.

In terms of usability, the update introduces a new touch keyboard layout tailored for Xbox controllers, simplifying typing for gamers and controller users with button shortcuts. In the European Economic Area, users can now customize their lock screen widgets by adding, removing, or rearranging them. The Weather widget now supports more personalization options, with additional widget support expected in future updates.

File Explorer has been improved with new pivot-based views for Microsoft 365 content and expanded support for text scaling. Performance when extracting ZIP files, especially those with many small items, has also been enhanced. Several bugs have been fixed, including issues with the address bar and full-screen menu behavior. Accessibility features such as live transcription for Narrator now provide a recap of spoken content, making it easier to review or copy previously read text.

Windows Studio Effects now automatically activate the camera’s framing feature on supported devices. Additional changes improve touch gestures in the Start menu, clarify app action recommendations in Settings, and fix persistent UI bugs like underlines on taskbar icons or issues with arrow key navigation in some languages.

Despite these improvements, a few issues remain unresolved. A security update still creates an empty C:\inetpub folder, which Microsoft advises not to delete. Compatibility issues may block installation if Citrix’s older Session Recording Agent is installed, and Roblox remains unsupported on ARM-based devices through the Microsoft Store.
