RALEIGH — Senate Democratic Leader Dan Blue (SD 14) released the following statement on Thursday’s announcement that Senate and House Republicans reached a deal on expanding Medicaid in North Carolina:
“Medicaid expansion has been a long time coming for working families in our state. Governor Cooper and Democratic lawmakers have never stopped fighting for better access to good, affordable healthcare. This is a lifeline for working adults and rural communities. Today’s announcement marks the beginning of a brighter, healthier future for North Carolina. I look forward to working with our Senate colleagues to get a Medicaid expansion bill to the Governor’s desk quickly.”
