AI and ChatGPT Have Changed My Life

No. Really. It has. I thought I was broken, but I was really just waiting to rediscover what I could do.

When I first discovered ChatGPT in April of 2025, I was struggling — really struggling.
I’ve lived with chronic pain, hypothyroidism, and depression for years, but this time the weight felt heavier. Some of it began with Mocha — the dog I was supposed to foster for just a few months.

She was full of energy and love, but I couldn’t control her. Every walk left me aching, my old army injuries flaring. I wanted to help her, but my body couldn’t keep up. When I finally made the decision to find her a new home — a wonderful one with two big yards and people who adored her — I knew it was right. I knew that.
But the sadness that followed caught me completely off guard.

The depression came on hard. My thyroid meds weren’t working, and I was tired… so tired. I tried walking — it had always helped before — but this time, all I got was pain. My feet and ankles throbbed, and I pushed through until the breakdowns came — the kind that leave you empty, sick, and quiet.

I began trying, slowly, to get back on track. To cut a very long story short, that still took a while.
