AZ – Insurance denying a life saving medication for my 1 year old

Hello, my 13 month old with new severe food allergies is being denied the Auvi-Q epinephrine injector. It is the only epinephrine injector on the market for children under 33lbs. He has state insurance, and they have denied it, and also just denied the prior authorization. I have called and sent in a last appeal. Does anyone know if i can try anything else?

I spoke with the manufacturer today and they legally cannot provide a coupon since he has state insurance.

we are also still awaiting insurance approval for allergy testing, so do not have a good idea what he’s allergic to. He’s had three severe allergic reactions, including facial swelling in the past three weeks. one er visit, one urgent care visit. He just saw his allergist too, so his allergist and his pediatrician recommended the drug for him.
