Software Malfunction
When using the Application Audio Capture source in PRISM, the following notification window pops up and the application is force terminated.
★ Cause of problem
An error occurs while calling the Windows system API (Windows mmdeviceapi ActivateAudioInterfaceAsync).
Calling this API automatically creates an asynchronous thread. An error occurs while this thread is calling the function back. However, this asynchronous thread-related data is managed by Windows and cannot be managed by PRISM. Therefore, it is difficult to determine the exact cause of the error and you will have to wait for Windows to fix the unstable issue with this API.
★ Solutions
1. Try running the ‘Application Audio Capture’ source again. If PRISM detects that an error has occurred for this source, it will automatically delete the source. You can use this source again by re-enabling it in the PRISM Lab.
2. Delete the file called laboratory-win-capture-audio.dll and re-enable the ‘application audio capture’ source. PRISM’s automatic deletion of plugins may fail due to permission issues, so the user may have to manually delete them. Please refer to the following on how to delete it.
Right-click on PRISM app -> Click ‘Open file location’ button -> Search for laboratory-win-capture-audio.dll -> Right-click on the file name -> Delete.
Thank you 🙂
