Need a break from the sweats? This map is adorable!
Every once in a while I need to just sit back and play a cozy game and if I’m already loaded up on Fortnite and I’m streaming, I don’t want to have to change games because on a PS5 that ends the stream. Then I’d have to start it all over again.
But I’ve found one of the coziest, cutest games on Fornite called Cat Cafe. It’s a creative map and it’s not perfect but it’s a great way to relax if Fornite is getting too sweaty for you.
Island code: 7343–4681–3555
You start the game off by meeting someone — the guardian? the cafe owner? — who tells you that your mission is to collect all the cats and send them to the cafe. You also should collect mice for the cats.
As you walk towards the cafe (you’ll see the path) you’ll find your first cat and send them to the cafe. It’s that simple. Right after that, there are some glowing mice. Run over them and you’ve collected them.
There are 21 cats and 100 mice to be found.
The trick is that they are scattered all over a huge island with fields and mountains and trails leading all over the place. But it’s a lot of fun to explore. The island is gorgeous and there are pools and rivers and beaches.
You can even find some hard to reach places on top of the mountains where you have to get creative to find a way to bounce into the clouds and jump on a grinder where you can find more mice. And if you are watching, you’ll see that one cat, sitting on top of a cloud.
Some of the cats are chilling inside other buildings on the island so make sure to check out every building you see.
The cats have cute names and little personalities, too!
Watch for modes of transportation throughout the island to get you around faster. I’ve found one boat (there might be more) and a few dirt bikes and its fun to rip around on them. Careful not to drive off the path (I might have done that a few times).
Behind one of the farming buildings there are chickens that lay Easter eggs you can collect. I’m not sure what you’re collecting them for though. XP? Maybe but I didn’t see mine go up after collecting them.
The only thing I didn’t like about the game is that there are these weird bubbles that make it difficult to see everything. I’m not sure if it is a thing on Switch or not because I haven’t played the game on Playstation. But I can’t see that there’s a purpose for them.
Oh, and the major downfall of the game — you can’t save your progress and come back later to finish it. I haven’t completed the game yet so I’m not sure what happens if you get all the cats and mice.
Playing the game does get you XP for time spent but I didn’t see any other way to increase XP. So, this game is just for fun. It’s not about grinding levels.
I do want to complete it though, just to see what will happen if I get all the mice and cats!
Is this a game you’d play? Have you played it before? Let me know what you think in the comments!
By the way, I am currently working on a series of short stories. It’s a Fortnite spoof series that is equally ridiculous, funny, and touching. You should totally be subscribed to this newsletter because I’m going to be giving away subscriptions to a couple handfuls of people for free. And then it’s going to cost money. So subscribe now!
