TikTok is the only marketing now?

Is marketing dead and only relies on TikTok?

Being a lover of makeup and clothes and a little bit of a consumerist I love marketing and love to see how brands place their products and their audience.

I use to work at a movie theater and use to love movies, but to my surprise if I did not work there, I would not know that a lot of movies were released.

In the makeup industry a lot of brands, namely Tarte, love to send their products to influencers and make trips to exotic places to market their products. Seeing that luxury, seeing influencers receive the more than 30 shades of their new concealer and knowing that they would never use that and that if I wanted it I would have to pay more than 30€ for it made me crazy. I decided that I would never support that brand and many others who did the same.

Seeing great actors like Denzel Washington being almost forced to make a TikTok to promote his new movie is crazy to me. Denzel Washington does not need that. Just his name and a few press conference’s are enough for his movie to be talked about. I remember Dune 2 being released and Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet making TikTok’s, knowing that they don’t even have an account is insane. (I also have a lot of gossip on the world of movies and made me see everything differently.)
