Good food, time traveling cook, palace drama and love. These episodes made me hungry
Yoona, a Korean 3-star Michelin Chef who wins a competition serving royal food ends up serving the king with all of the palace drama and romance where food is also a character and a magical book.
Bon Appetit, Your Majesty is currently on Netflix with 12 episodes, and each episode features a different dish which is its own flavor and drama.
In a world of bland food, the cook Yonna will spice things up in the palace. Yoona wins a contest as a French chef in a cooking contest of royal palace food and wins a restaurant, but she has to go back to see her father and bring a book, the Mangonook
On the solar eclipse, she is transported from a plane bathroom to the Josean dynasty and immediately encounters the king. This series is about survival and food i the truest sense. She knows the history, but she is now living history. She breaks down the kings defenses with food and spice and innovation. It is a true relationship. There are a lot of imprisonment scenes, but Yoona is a diplomat and innovator with food.
The scenes with the how the food is received is one of my favorite parts of the series. All food should have that effect of flavor and freshness.
