My personal reflection on what reading truly means and the toxic side of this community.
In 2023, I decided to get back to my reading habit.
As a teenager, I used to read at least one book a week and was always looking for new things to read. My goal was to always have a book in my hand. I remember how, on vacation, I would spend my days reading directly from my computer on free websites and online libraries, and I convinced my parents to buy me at least one book a month.
I loved books beyond words, and I wanted to regain that passion I lost thanks to adulthood.
I had tried books on finance and personal development because I thought those were the books I was supposed to read as an adult, but I always ended up abandoning them or taking forever to finish them, so I decided to buy a romance book just to try something else.
I got the recommendation from TikTok.
After that book, I felt my reading spirit begin to recover. So I started following more content creators and learning about the best and most popular books, and which authors people liked the most.
