FKA Twigs and Andrew Tate may have a point.
Following an interview on YouTube, singer-songwriter FKA Twigs went viral on TikTok with many people have to comment and share her obscene claim:
Where are the thinkers of this generation. I think we don’t have anymore thinkers…
This left many insulted as if she was insulting each gen z member as completely ignorant and without an ordinal thought. However, as a gen z can I really fault her?
One Big TikTok Thought…
One thing I must disagree with FKA is the assumption that Gen Z’s are not interested in ‘thinking’ or having ‘thoughts’. I argue Gen Z are victim to an overconsumption of knowledge and ideas, birthed from the love of the internet. For instance, the comment section of social media platforms are 2025 version of the pit Socrates would share concepts with. The comment sections are where the ideas are expressed. Reacting to a tiktok video makes a person enter into the consensus of the larger community and can either critically think to themselves about what they think or absorb a new perspective they have not thought of.
The Cave
As a philosophy graduate, the idea that there are no ‘thinkers’ left is a reductive idea. My question is what is a ‘’Real thinker’ ? What…
