A Lesson from TikTok Creators Who Do Nothing

It’s a lesson they didn’t intend to teach

I was scrolling through TikTok last week (I can’t be productive all the time) and noticed many creators on Live feeds.

It’s become a popular way of connecting with followers, but I vaguely recall one of the creators mentioning a contest. Whether due to my viewing patterns, the popularity, or the contest, I saw a LOT of Live feeds.

One thing I noticed about these feeds is the lack of substance. Over half of the videos I saw featured shirtless handsome young men doing virtually nothing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining about seeing them. However, it also made me extremely frustrated.

I’m a freelance writer and blogger. I’ve practiced my craft for years, gaining experience working for different companies and improving along the way. I’ve worked to build an audience on WordPress, Medium, Vocal, and Substack.

Many guys I saw on TikTok were half my age (or more) and likely making more money than I.

People gave them virtual roses and other things representing gifts, which also cost money. This means viewers paid to see these guys do nothing.

Are you freaking kidding me?!
