A new itteration of Digimon much needed after the dysmal Kizuma, this series reimagines the concept as a more scientifically advanced world where a biological energy known as “e-pulse” powers egg-like mobile devices. From this vitalism come digimons, which nicely explains them being alive being being data. Also, it ties well with the protagonist’s, Tomoro, pulse motif as he likes music.
Speaking of him, it’s nice that the “googles protagonist” thing is solved with him wearing glasses. A pretty creative take on a trope common to these series.
The animation is mostly alright. The story takes itself seriously and for now seems to address heavy topics.
A must watch
