Close To Being With You

Extreme measures
Our resistance loses its band
We’re losing support
From one another

I lose myself in moments
At the thought of you
You’re the highlight of all my secrets
If only we could have met
So much younger

Do I belong here
The way they look at me
I can’t tell if it’s from interest
Or disturbance

I’m out of place
I’m a shadow in a room
Full of light and life
I’m undead

I used to be able to cry
Now I can’t even force it out
Unwilling and unable
My emotions disobey me

Just when I wanted to give up
You needed me
And then I smiled to your smile
