The Experiences of Poor, Single Parents/Families in the US Government Assistance System

This is a story that few, if any, Republicans will read all the way through.

The average person who does not struggle with normal living expenses does not know or understand the extent of the realities for single and two-parent working poor families to just survive.

Wealthy lawmakers do not know or care. Their apathy toward human beings who are not rich and their selfish, self-serving decisions are the catalyst in keeping the poor, poor.

I will begin by outlining some facts surrounding the working poor. (See this for intimate details in the daily life of the working poor.) I include both single and two-parent families who live at or below the poverty level.

Many parents in this population are educated, raised with integrity, and live hard-working, wholesome lives.

I wish to enlighten the reader to the daily plight of this population and to set the record straight on some little-known or dismissed details about us.
