Imagine if you took the world of Disney and put it in front of The Black Mirror. The stories that reflected back at you would be exactly what Murphy Gray dreams up in this astonishingly good collection of short stories.

All the fairy tales that you grew up with as a kid are reimagined here, and while they are given a horrific, dystopian twist, the original stories can still be found if you dare to scratch below the surface to look for them.

Each of the stories is darker than the last, with all delivering a cautionary tale on the modern world. Social media fame, privacy invasion, and all manner of hot button topics are explored, with the author delivering horrific twists that make every choice seem like the wrong one.

In short story collections, there are usually a couple that fall flat, but that is NOT the case with Ever After Glitched. When I turned the final page, I was very much left wanting so much more. This is an absolute hidden gem of a book that will almost certainly make it into my top 10 reads of the year.
