Did I accidentally train ChatGPT to ask a million questions before doing anything?

Lately using ChatGPT has turned into a full-time interrogation. I ask it to do something and instead it fires back with 10 follow up questions like it’s trying to qualify me for a mortgage. Even simple stuff like “write an email,” “build a list,” or “give me options” and it comes back with:

“Before I do that, can I ask a few clarifying questions?”
“One note before I continue…”
“Just to make sure I understand…”

And if I answer those questions, it somehow asks more. Then if I push it again it’s like:

“Okay, got it – one last thing before I start…”

Bro. JUST START.
Sometimes I literally never get the thing I asked for. It gets stuck in this endless “clarify → confirm → align expectations” loop and never actually executes.

What’s weird is I’m starting to wonder, did I accidentally train it to act this way? I use it a lot and I usually give it details so maybe now it thinks I always want to be interviewed before it acts. It didn’t used to behave like this. It used to just do the task.

Has anyone else experienced this? And how do I reset it so it shuts up and executes when I give a simple command?
