Does anyone feeler a bit dumber for using Ai frequently?

I used chat gpt heavily for my work (sales) and used it in my daily life, asking questions and even to a point of almost using like a therapist.

I also used image creation like midjourney as well. Im an real artist myself and I found using Ai for idea generation helped me a lot. (Im fully aware of the copyright stuff and the artist community hating ai)

I was sold on Ai and I loved it. My partner made jokes and worried I was using it too much, my workplace made jokes I was plugged into chatgpt and I couldn't work without it. And maybe they're right.

I'd say I'd heavily use it for the last 2 years.

But I started to notice something, I feel like I got a bit stupider. My wit wasnt as quick, my mental maths was slower and my writing and spelling seemed to get worse as well. I came to realize that I was relying on Ai too much and now im worried that I've caused some permanent damage or I need to retrain myself in some very basic areas.

Ive since reduced my use by 95% of all Ai, I recognize chatgpt as a tool now and I use it as such.

But yeah, does anyone else feel like they've gotten a little dumber or slower since they've started using ai? Im genuinely interested if people have had negative long term issues.
