What Is Agentic AI?
Agentic AI refers to autonomous AI agents capable of goal-oriented reasoning, memory, and action, often connected to APIs, databases, and other agents. These systems can delegate tasks, collaborate, and adapt in real-time without human micromanagement.
According to a Gartner (2024) report, by 2027 over 60% of enterprises will deploy AI agents to automate multi-step processes — up from less than 5% in 2023. Unlike ChatGPT, which responds to prompts, agentic systems execute workflows end-to-end, such as onboarding employees, managing supply chains, or conducting financial forecasting.
