Young Benjamin Lasky, better known as Quadeca, has one of the most remarkable career trajectories in modern music.

Starting as a YouTube rapper, he blew up with a viral diss track in 2018, and immediately used his newfound notoriety to build his career in music. But he didn’t stay in rap, far from it. Instead, he crafted ambitious folktronica concept albums like 2022’s I Didn’t Mean To Haunt You, containing music unafraid to defy boundaries of genre and tell a larger narrative.

Now, at just 24 years old, Lasky has created his grandest statement yet with his fourth LP Vanisher, Horizon Scraper. With fourteen songs stretching well over an hour, Vanisher is easily his most detailed and cinematic presentation yet, but he didn’t just create music. Lasky also wrote, directed, and starred in a 69 minute movie, a full visual accompaniment to the music, proof of his larger-than-life artistic ambitions, and testament to his ability to execute his vision.
