You see a lot of polished, strangely neutral posts these days, some sound too coherent, some used a lot of AI-style words. So I decided to check.
I ran a small experiment using Zhuque AI, a detector that analyzes linguistic and stylistic signals to estimate how “AI-like” a piece of text sounds.
I sampled 76 Reddit posts from r/popular and r/ChatGPT. These two subs kinda represent different corners of Reddit, while r/popular mixes all kinds of topics from different communities, r/ChatGPT is where people who already enjoy or use ChatGPT a lot discuss things.
Results are:
r/popular → 5 out of 13 posts (~38%) were likely AI-written or partially AI-assisted
r/ChatGPT → 23 out of 63 posts (~36%) showed similar signs
Of course this experiment has limits: the detector needs at least ~350 words of input, so most short posts or one-liners couldn’t be tested at all. That means these numbers mostly reflect longer posts, not memes or quick questions. But still, I thought it was interesting enough to share.
