Seamlessly migrating to a new chat after the old one hit the message limit?

I've been writing a story on a chat for weeks now and a few days ago, I hit the message limit there. I asked the old chat (edited my last message) to ask what to do, it updated its memory and said you can continue in a new chat if you just say "X Y Z story continuation".

I tried continuing from a new chat, it knows what's going on but the writing style has shifted a lot. doesn't remember a lot of details.

How should I feed it?

I thought of downloading my data, and create a word document with he story chat only and give it to the new one to analayze etc. but would it work?
