As I grow older, I find myself becoming more philosophical. The bigger questions of life — human existence, the meaning of it all — keep me awake at night.
So, I turned to books for answers.
I started with Descartes, but when he began offering convoluted explanations about why God exists, I fell asleep. (One problem solved — my insomnia!)
Then I moved on to Nietzsche. I read some of his quotes, watched a few TED-Ed videos, and even picked up a simpler philosophy book, Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder.
I learned a few new words like “stoicism,” and while my sleep improved, the questions still remained unanswered. 😔
And then, at the end of last year, the long-awaited final book of The Stormlight Archive, ‘Wind and Truth,’ was released. I ordered them all: five main novels, two novellas, one prequel, and one sequel (nine books in total), and began reading. (Complete list at the end 👇)
Let me tell you, these books contained all the philosophy I had been searching for.
