I make $1,602 a month from ssi/ssdi and receive partial Medicaid with a spend down and $24 in help from ebt. I barely make ends meet, but I just make it. I’m fortunate to have the partial Medicaid so I don’t have the $186 deducted for Medicaire.

My insurance is United healthcare and they are pulling out of Michigan next year so I have to go with Humana. The benefits are not good. I have $55 copays for most everything, $250 to see my specialists, $800 and up for my treatments like for my anemia and so on. Also no telehealth and 2 of my doctors are this way. I’m beyond stressed.

My therapist told me to do the Ticket to Work program and if I do I won’t lose any of my benefits but in fact my Medicaid will go from partial to full Medicaid if I work again somehow. And also that none of my benefits will be affected. Everything I’ve looked up has told me different tho. He’s very frustrated with me and I’m confused how all this works.

DHS has told me that if I make $106 more a month I’ll lose my Medicaid, ebt help and have to pay my own Medicaire and he’s saying that’s not right, I’m misunderstanding. Can anyone explain to me how this works really that knows? I’m so afraid to make the wrong choices here. Thanks!
