This book was a gripping emotional rollercoaster, as I empathized with dating and relationships; sometimes I felt as if I had glimpsed the 1960s. Other times, it made me think about death, life, purpose, and feeling down and out. There were moments I felt the anticipation; I couldn’t wait for the next page. Other times, I stopped to ponder the poem, reflect, and wonder if I’d grasped its whole meaning. The characters often felt real.
