to release 5 for the 3 year anniversary (November 30), but something forced their hand to release it prematurely in August (I believe Gemini and Claude saw big updates in July). Hence the fallout about 5. They forced it out when it wasn’t ready. Hence the 5.1 update so shortly after. This doesn’t feel incremental at all.
