How a Happy Wedding Turns into a Hilarious and Witty Story

In our mind, a wedding usually shows the bride and groom surrounded by their relatives and friends, and the vibe will be full of joy and happiness. However, in this book, Alison brings us into humorous and witty situations that are very different from the wedding vibes we know.

This story follows Phoebe Stone, a Professor of Victorian Literature who wants to end her life because everything feels ruined after discovering that her husband had an affair with her best friend, Mia. Their affair started when they all had dinner during Thanksgiving. Phoebe felt that her life was over—her book and dissertation were still unfinished, and she was still only an adjunct at the university in St. Louis.

Phoebe escaped to the Newport Hotel at the Cornwall Inn, where she planned to end her life with a beautiful view in front of her.
