Pay Range: $65.10 – $72.51 per hour on W2
#LPJob Description Summary:
Seeking a Cyber Security Analyst with a strong background in SOC operations, including proficiency in using Splunk, coding knowledge in Python, and SQL database management. The ideal candidate should possess advanced Microsoft Office skills and have a clear understanding of cyber kill chains and incident response protocols. This role requires a meticulous individual capable of public speaking and presenting complex data and security findings effectively.Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and manage security measures using SPL in Splunk for monitoring and analysis.
• Develop and maintain scripts in Python or R for automated security tasks and data analysis.
• Utilize SQL for database querying and management to support security operations.
• Create detailed reports and presentations using Microsoft Office tools to communicate security findings.
• Participate in, and contribute to, Level 1 & 2 SOC operations ensuring timely incident response and mitigation.

Must-Have Skills:

• Proficiency in Splunk and SQL.
• SPL (Search Processing Language) – used in Splunk for data queries and log analysis
• KQL (Kusto Query Language) – used within Microsoft security tools (Sentinel, Defender, etc.)
• 3+ years of hands-on security incident response (not general IT tickets)
• Familiarity with security operations centers (SOC) or vulnerability management preferred

Required Domain Experience:

• Experience in Information Security or Cyber Security within a SOC environment is essential.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining a high-level clearance or already holding a secret clearance. Peraton high BG or Security Clearance is required
• Bachelor’s degree in cyber security, Information Security, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in the cybersecurity field.
• Open to remote candidates but preference is given to locals in SF.
• Weekly briefs so communication is important with Public speaking skills.
