EASY AND EVERYONE CAN DO IT
If you are looking for a million-dollar story and quit your 9–5 job, this is not for you. This is just a practical story for someone who wants to have a side hustle that can make easy money.
Here’s exactly how it went down, step by step.
Step 1: Prompt ChatGPT to Give Me the Right Ideas
I didn’t want 50 ideas. I wanted five things I could finish before dinner.
Prompt I used (copy-paste this): “Give me 5 dead-simple digital product ideas that a complete beginner can create in under 60 minutes using only you. Must be pure text, no design skills required, and solvable with one prompt.”
The list came back instantly:
- Daily journaling prompts pack
- Affirmation card deck
- 30-day habit tracker template
- Creative writing prompts collection
- Niche-specific conversation starters
I chose the 30-day habit tracker template because:
- Everyone is trying to build habits in 2025
- It’s pure tables + instructions (ChatGPT’s superpower)
- I could actually use it myself
Step 2: I Built the Product in 38 Minutes
Exact prompt I used (you can steal it):
“Act as a professional productivity coach. Create a beautiful, printable 30-day habit tracker template pack. Include:
- One minimalist monthly tracker (30 circles/days)
- One detailed daily version with time-blocking
- A ‘habit recipe’ page with 15 science-backed tiny habits
- A 2-page guide: ‘How to Use This Tracker Without Failing’ Make everything motivational, clean, and ready to copy-paste into a PDF.”
ChatGPT delivered in 12 seconds.
I spent the remaining 26 minutes:
- Picking the best 3 layouts
- Adding soft motivational quotes
- Writing a short intro: “The tracker that turned my chaotic days into 8 winning streaks”
- Exporting from Notion → clean, printable PDF
No Canva. No colors. Just black-and-white perfection that actually works.
Step 3: I Launched a Free Store in 6 Minutes
Gumroad — because it’s free and handles everything.
Steps:
- Uploaded the PDF
- Title: “The 30-Day Habit Tracker That Actually Works (Printable)”
- Description: Short, honest, benefit-focused
- Price: Pay What You Want (minimum $1) — still my favorite pricing hack
- Used Gumroad’s automatic mockup generator for a pretty cover image
Store live. Link ready. Cost: $0.
Step 4: I Shared It in Exactly 3 Free Places
I had 63 followers on Twitter/X and no real audience. Didn’t matter.
Where I posted:
- Twitter/X Tweet
Step 5: The Sales Started Rolling In
First sale: $5 (someone wrote “This is clean — thank you!”) Second sale: $1 Third sale: $8 (yes, eight) Fourth sale: $4 + a $5 tip “for the motivation”
By the end of day 4:
- 11 sales
- $36 gross → $31.20 in my PayPal after fees
What I Learned (The Real Money Lessons)
- Useful > Beautiful People don’t need rainbows. They need something that works on their printer at 11 PM.
- Pay-What-You-Want Is Pure Magic Average price paid: $3.27 — way higher than if I had set $5 fixed.
- Habit & Productivity Niches Are Evergreen Gold Everyone wants to “become better” in January… and February… and November.
- AI Is Your Unpaid Designer + Copywriter You just have to be the one brave enough to hit publish.
