Why can’t chatgpt remember things properly after about a day? If I’m working on a document with it, it will start to change things on its own and it’s fucking infuriating.

I have used to it write letters or more often work on study guides over say a weeks worth of time to prepare for an exam. On the first day I spend time with it coming up with a day by day plan of what topics to review each day. Now I even tell it very explicitly to remember the exact finalized plan and to not change a single thing. But low and behold I ask it to pull up the next days material and its altered both the material and the format.

Working with it I can't even get it back to the original plan. I even copied in the original plan put it into a document and re-uploaded it and chatgpt is continuing to reference some other plan it made up. And if I point that out it'll say let me fix that and then regenerate the same garbage or tell me it'll pull it up in a second and not do anything. It's so infuriating and I don't have any time for this.

Also if I tell it to change some detail it will change other things too, even if I very explicitly tell it to only do exactly what I tell it.

Is there anyway to fix this or stop this? It's driving me fucking bananas.
