When it says thinking and talks to itself for 3 minutes, what does it really doing? If I hit skip will I get a worse answer?

Why do I have to retry and refresh so often? Sometimes I get the red message that says unusual activity has been detected and click retry. Sometimes it just hangs and after a minute or so I refresh and the answer pops up. Sometimes it keeps hanging and I close the tab and open a new one and the answer is right there.
