By skyforbes So I left a fairly long comment explaining why this will literally never happen. That all of these AI tools, but PARTICULARLY video generators, are literally the largest money infernos ever operated in human history. For example a free user using all of their free video generations every day is costing OpenAI about 720/month (0.80 per 10 second video * 30 videos per day * 30 videos per month = 720/month for a SINGLE FREE USER). So like… why on earth would OpenAI be willing to let literally every single human on earth choose to burn 720 of their (OpenAI's) bucks (bread, dough, moolah) every single month? Apparently even in posts you cant post if there is any reference to… the thing i'm avoiding referencing, so I have to write stupidly like this and get rid of all explicit references to dough/moolah/bucks/etc).
And basically the short answer is training data. They get AMAZING training data. Because they have your prompt and the resulting video of course. But also they see everything. They see when you resubmit a prompt 10 times and which one you actually posted (this gives them AMAZING data for textual accuracy). They also see the likes and views on videos (this gives my AMAZING data on aesthetic value), plus they even use LLMs to actually READ the comments, and get even more data on the textual accuracy of the video (they can read people commenting like "WOW this matches the prompt so well", or "this is awesome, but doesn't match the prompt", etc).
And the point is they are letting you burn their money to get this training data, which they will use to train Sora 3, 4, 5, until they have a video generator that can generate full movies or tv shows (at least tv show episodes), and they will (give access for moolah) THIS model to the production studios and whatnot, and we will literally NEVER see access to that tool (they will also pull access to ALL the video generators on that day). And the studios of course will just keep making us subscribe to all these streaming services, and just the the AI to let them fire all the humans involved in producing movies and TV shows. That is the reason why OpenAI is letting you burn 720 of their bucks every month JUST on Sora, and completely for free. It's not for free, you're giving them better training data than they could possibly get (even theoretically) any other way.
But regarding the person who said everything should pass the video layer if it passes the prompt layer….. This will never happen because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. NONE OF THE DECISIONS ARE ABOUT YOU. The decisions are about making the most money. (Giving away in exchange for moolah) generative AI (at least in anything resembling its current form) will NEVER be profitable, because even for something like the free tier of chatgpt it would probably cost AT LEAST 50-100 bucks/month to make it break even for them. And there would still be very restrictive token limits. So all of this is about making stronger AI they can (give in exchange for moolah) to companies in the future (and in the longer term, making AGI and just "winning the economy"). So they will NEVER remove limits on copyrighted or sexual content or whatever to be like you want it. Because the only reason you have access to this model is to be the training data for the next one that they can actually (give in exchange for moolah) for trillions (over many years of usage) to companies.
But my broader point is this. It scares me how it seems like NO ONE IS EVEN CAPABLE of having these thoughts. No one seems able to think beyond "but it isn't the way I want it to be." I'm not saying you can't complain or that you can't be upset. I get annoyed too. But it is TERRIFYING to me how everyone is walking around like robots literally unable to think of things from ANY perspective besides their own.
