Piano player in a nightclub or bar is discovered by a music industry bigwig and quickly rises to fame…
I don’t remember whether his downfall was booze or a woman or both, I just recall a scene after the fall where he’s found playing requests in a more honky tonk kind of bar for free drinks.
He gets rediscovered and sobers up and maybe has a comeback?
