Personally was hoping for any of these to get representation at TGA this year

Just an opinion post.

I knew going in none of these would be close to being nominated for GOTY, but I would’ve at least liked to see them nominated somewhere.

Digimon Stories Time Strangers was a super polished RPG and for any monster collector fans a really good game.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition is probably the best open world game I’ve played. Compared to the trilogy the story isn’t very good, but compared to most Open World games it’s decent. The world is beautiful, the gameplay is awesome, and Sawano nailed the soundtrack. I know remasters typically aren’t considered by many but last year Geoff did confirm they are legible for all categories, and for many Xenoblade X was a new game as it was trapped on end of life Wii U.

The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- is probably the most ambitious game this year that just has a lot of shortcomings. I just think that the risk the devs took (going into bankruptcy because the original publisher backed out) and the scale of the project should have been recognized. Thought it could’ve gone into best narrative easily and possibly strategy.

Sonic 3 was a really good video game movie. The visuals, the score, the fanservice, etc. Coming off the back of the last two movies this one was way better. It’s easily my favorite adaptation this year even if I know Minecraft is bigger. Was hoping to see it nominated.
