Maybe I’m imagining it, but console gaming feels way less exciting than it used to be. Back in the PS3/360 era, even smaller releases felt like events. Now with the PS5/Series X… I dunno, everything feels quieter.
Sony keeps porting their big exclusives to PC, then annoys people with random anti-consumer stuff like forcing PSN accounts on PC players.
Microsoft seems more interested in turning everything into a Game Pass subscription ecosystem. At this point I half expect them to release a “console” that’s just a green Roku stick.
And the prices? Dude. Console + controllers + a couple new games = basically the same price as a decent starter PC. No wonder some people are switching.
So, what’s everyone else thinking? Is this the beginning of the end, or just a slow generation?
