By skyforbes I am huge fan of Love Trilogy by Wong Kar Wai, so I keep searching for more films like it.
I just love this genre in general, basically love and longing…but expressed in silence and colours.
Nothing over the top and cheesy,
Portrait of Lady on Fire, Lust Caution, Close, Call me by your Name are few more examples.
But you realise what magic they are pulling only after you see some bad ones.
Like after digging I eventually get to films that are technically in this genre but don’t do it justice because Director just doesn’t have same capabilities.
And it feels so boring, Performances are not up to the mark, it makes you feel nothing besides boredom.
And this kind of filmmaking can’t even be taught.
Like just how to create tension and make a random Tuesday beautiful.
